Free plan

Here is a free plan for building the World War I German fighter - Fokker Eindecker (1915). Please read the instructions before you begin building your aeromodel. This is my way of saying - Thankyou for your interest in aeromodelling!

1. Print out the picture file "plan.gif" onto a stiff card paper - size A4 and preferably white in colour. The plan is printer ready and true to scale. i.e. The 15-cm scale on the printout is truly 15 cm, so you do not need to resize the picture again!

2. Cut out the parts and fold them along the blue lines. Stick them together using Fevicol as shown in the figures.

3. Bend metal wires to-shape, for the landing gear and cockpit canopy. Old ball-pen refills may be used instead. Use wheels from old / broken toy cars or cut out your own cardboard wheels. Mount the machine gun, propeller and other details as shown in the figures / photograph.

4. Use sewing thread to make the supporting wire struts. Paint the model referring to the scheme in photograph above. Or you may prefer painting the model completely black (except the emblem of course), since these aircrafts were used as night bombers too! Use oil paints for an authentic finish.

This paper model is just an 'ice-breaker' exercise to tune you to the true spirit of aeromodelling. Hope you enjoy making this model and further explore the true joy of 'aeromodelling proper'...
